G'day,

Have been looking at getting a spray on Ute liner for my Navara and was hoping to get some comments (good, bad, indifferent) from anyone who has had these applied.

From what I have already read on various forums it sounds like the person applying the product is the most important factor in getting a good job, but am curious to here others experiences.

Laz,

I my old XD falcon ute, I used a bitumen based brush on ute liner to cover some rust LOL

I used about twice the required amount as I did 2 coats and it lasted a great deal of abuse.

Cheers Kev

Have just put a liner in my Ford Ranger and it was a lot cheaper at $305 than getting a RHINO spray job and the quality is uniform. AERO do liners for most stuff and I thought the product was relatively easy to install , with clever securing plates that then become tie down rings and its tough material.

Laz,
had the Rhino product applied on my dual cab & it is an excellent product. Nowhere for water to get between & cause rust it is non slip & very tough. You also have options as to where you wish it to be finished within the ute or out over the sides. It's like everything a matter of preference & $$'s.

Laz ,

About 10 years ago , I had an off-road trailer made and I specified that I wanted the stuff sprayed on that they used on the interior of horse floats .

It turned out really well . It was slightly soft , and stopped stuff rubbing against metal . It was in perfect condition when I sold it four years later , so it was tough stuff .

Not sure how to find out about it - Google I suppose .

Willie .

Laz I have a 99 rodeo and the tub had some pretty bad surface rust so I treated that and approached Rino to get the spray on job.

It was going to be about $450 and then they would also need to rub back the tub because they could not gurantee the rust converter would allow the plastic to stick.

Thought...buggar that all too hard and too expensive...Went to Coventrys (super cheap sell them to) and bought an under body deadener spray applicator...about $25 and two tins of under body deadner in a can that attaches to the applicator.

10 minutes taping a sheet around the outside of the tub and some masking tape around the edges and I was spraying.

Fantastic job hard as nails and the bitumen smell went away after about a week when the lot had time to cure properly.

12 months on and a fair hiding still looks like standing up well and if it wears...I still have the applicator for another coat.

Looks good and cost about $60 all up and a few hrs on a sunday to apply.

All the best

Matt.
