Hi all,
After a post a few days ago about Mt. Conner I thought I would muck around and see if I could use the 2005 version of Natmap and then use the 2000 version by using "find map at curser" etc. so as to compare the difference in the maps.
I set the map file locations and map image locations.
The problem is they use very simliarly named *.ecw files (image files). Ayers Rock SG5208 is called SG5208.ecw on the 2000 series and sg5208.ecw on the 2005 series.
Both map files point to the 2005 series (or default there??)
Will I have to rename every map and image file on one of the versions to a different name to get around this problem?
Can anyone please help?
Thanks
Alan
PS- I don't care about Mt. Conner anymore

If you have the 2000 map in a folder called 2000 (.map & the actual picture file) & the 2005 in a folder called 2005, when you hit the find more maps at this location (center spot of 4 way icon at the top on the toolbar, & have the checkbox lower right corner unchecked) ozi should respond with the two maps, but it will also list them with thier folder information so you will know which is which.
I hope I haven't confused you too much! Cheers Richard

The reason this should work is because ozi looks in the current folder first before it uses the location information supplied in the .map file. So if in each folder you have the .map file & its associated picture file it should work OK.

Thanks StormyKnight.
I have done what you said and I first thought it would work.
I can load all the maps from the menu.
I loaded the 2005 Ayers Rock map and found Mt. Conner and right clicked, find map at cursor. All the maps appeared (Landsat, 2000 Ayers Rock, 2000 index map, 1M, 5M and 20M.) I selected 2000 Ayers Rock and got it, Mt Conner on target with the older map.
When I tried to do the reverse and go back to 2005 all maps were in the menu except 2005 (at 250K). Right clicking on Ayers Rock itself and all maps appear in the menu.
The problem lies with the calibration somewhere as the 2005 map is out of sync with the 2000 map.
The 2005 map is available from the main menu.
mmmm

Thanks again StormyKnight.
Sometimes it works.
I think maybe the software "learns" or something weird.
I'll work on it again for a while.
Cheers

There's something wrong if you don't learn something Richard :))
And the other Richard - occasionally I'm getting Exception Processing Message blah blah numbers etc. but I hit cancel and the correct map comes up so 98% there.
Cheers
