1. I purchased a CTEK 7000 smart charger for the battery pack that comes with the CT. The diameter of the connectors are not large enough to fit the external screw bolts of the battery. If I have larger connectors fitted to the CTEK lead, will this cause any problems?
2. Yes I know its something that shouldn't be done, but one of the leads I use has a 15amp plug at one end and a normal connection at the other end. If I use this in the garage at home, will it blow the crappers out of the CTEK?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Kim

Hi Kim
Replace the lugs to suit your battery.
Also note that the Ctek plastic connector with the barrel lugs is very poor quality and they get hot and melt. Cut the connector off and fit your eye lugs in its place.

Derek.

Derek
Many thanks for that.
From my understanding, the CTEK unit does'nt suffer from over heating problems in high ambient temperatures. Is that correct?

Hi Kim
They are not bad units and there have been some units fail but in general they are ok. I have dropped them from my own product range as Bainbridge could not keep control of their stock levels and I sourced a similar product direct from the factory.

Derek
Thanks for that. Fitted the new eye lugs today. I'll install the unit in the storage box tomorrow.
Something I found a bit strange about the CTEK, is that they only have two attachment points.

Hi Kim
When you mount it use a few blobs of silicone adhesive behind the unit and it will be fine.

Derek.
