Morning Doug,
Great read thanks. I'd love to know just whereabouts on the Barwon River the "One ton Post" and the "B" tree are. I have worked in the area extensively during the past 10 years and must have been very close to both of them at times. The post must be a few
miles downstream of Mungindi where the 29th takes over from the "middle thread of the river". Might even be on the property "Burrandown" in that area. Must ask the owner when I'm next in the area.
Thanks again
Cheers

John,
The
one ton post is still there, starting in the main street of Mungindi go over the bridge into Queensland, after about 1km turn left then about 3km further on there is a
sign on the left back to the river, the
one ton post and B tree are there under rough shelters, there are also some of the original one mile posts just off the track.
We saw them recently when up at the Mungindi Music Festival.
Chris
