I am aware of a new service for both tyre consumers and tyre dealers, see www.carbonblack.com.au that provides consumers with the ability to seek out the right tyres for their cars as
well as receive bids from dealers. This provides the consumer with a balanced view, market related pricing and knowledge to ensure that you are getting the right tyres for your car.

Had a quick look.
Bit painful filling in all the questions.
Then they limit you to dealers within 20k of a postcode.
Being on the southside of
Brisbane, I usually ring around about six dealers I know within 50k of home.
Think I find it easier to ring around a few dealers and have a chat as to the best price for a range of a few select tyres.
Unless the dealers have an automated reply, I would hate to be a dealer trying to answer every query by email.

Just took a look at the site and read some of the tyre reviews. Cooper marketing department have not found it yet that's for sure.

Tried to find a price for some 265/75/16" for the prado, the system can't find anything in that size. Or is it something I'm doing wrong?

Well I think that site may have a few bugs to sort out. Type in 285/75/16 tyres to compare between Cooper & Goodyear & it says that Cooper are the only one with that size. Looks pretty easy to bag one brand of tyre & write glowing reports of another so reviews just like this
forum will need to be read with a pinch of salt. Still has the manufacturers spin on each brand and no real unbiased
views of how thay wear over time and certainly doesn't help choose one tyre over another.
But there is alot of good general tyre information & would be a great starting point to get a price before heading down to your local dealer for a better price.
Cheers Craig..................
