Howdy All,
Spent the last few weeks [on and off] playing at Jaurdi, Mt Elvire, Holland Track and down around Dryandra way.

The "BOSS" noticed an abundance of stakes with pink ribbons tied to them just about everywhere we went.
Can anyone enlighten us as to there purpose ?

Many thanks.....Lionel.

Another thought.
do they grow happy mushrooms in those areas? as they might have been dancing with the Fairies.

We lived at Mandurah years ago, and remember the write up's they used to have in the local paper about the Happy Mushrooms down near Dunsborough / Margaret River way.

I remember the one where a highway patrol officer seen these two dancing out in the middle of a paddock.

I could never find that paddock, must have been some good dirt down there.

Nothing wrong with dancing in a paddock. Been known to have the odd jig myself, usually with multiple partners, ie Johnnie Walker, Emu Bitter, a mellow Tawny Port and in dire times the "BOSS'S" cooking sherry...hehehe.....

Cant see the harm in a few "Magic" or "Happy" mushies. What ever turns one on. Nature must provide them for a reason.

Whats really cracking me up at the moment is this recent recall of a popular toy that if swallowed will cause symptoms associated with the designer drug GHB........How many idiots out there will be dropping these beads to see if its true.

A whacky world out there........Lionel.

Gidday G & D, Not a bad guess.

I should check my boobs more often I suppose. The "BOSS" is a little jealous of them as they are bigger than hers....hehehe.

They are likely survey pegs for an exploration drilling program

Yes that's probably it. I wish I had a dollar for every peg I hammered in back in the '90s. I still have a roll of pink flagging tape somewhere.

Looking for adventure.
In whatever comes our way.

Lionel,

We recently spent time at Ruby Gap in the East MacDonnells and noticed red ribbons on the side of the road on pegs or attached to shrubs. Turned out they were markers for the grader as they indicated where the road had a high or low spot. Once the road was graded the ribbons disappeared.

Cheers,

Bob

Sometimes markers like those mentioned are used to indicate the start point for various types of survey lines or grids. These could be for counting animals or laying poison baits, mineral specimen collecting, counting plant types etc.

Pink Flagging tape is used for everything as nothing else comes close to visability in the bush. It can be used to mark off the track the drillers need to go down, the grisline the loader needs to clear for the drill rig. on the peg for the drillers to drill list gos on except its mainly 9probably for exploration)
Did you end up taking the Turtadine rocks track from near Jaurdi to ora Banda?. If not i will have to arrrange somthing i am due for a goldfiels bushland fix soon

Hi Davoe,
Planning that one around easterish next year. Not a great fan of the building heat and the flies are unbelievable at the moment.

Mind you, let us know when and if your heading that way and we'll hook up. Love that neck of the woods.

Cheers mate........Lionel.
