Howdy folks, hows things?
Just a quick one...
I am looking at buying a second hand 4runner, downsizing from a cruiser (dont like the prado's/ nissans much etc).
I am looking at a few that have a V8 conversion. I rekn both the diesel & rv6 are pretty gutless and not very economical. One V8 is the calais 5.0 EFI (dual fuel) that has been worked by Marks adaptors (large gearbox etc)....
What things should I particularly look out for in the 4runner besides noisy running gear/diffs/ gearbox?
I know the rear window is a bit of a pain sometimes....
Cheers in advance

Radiators are all due for replacement, but that sahould be done allready if it has a v8. To give you something to think about the v6 Jackaroos have 158kws and go like a scalded cat and would be a lot more trouble free tham most vehicles with cvonversions.
Cheers Pete

The rear window is an easy fix, even if the module is damaged. Any auto elec should be able to do it for under $100. Front
suspension can take a hammering if its done lots of offroad (IFS). Cargo area trim panels and carpet suffer from distortion and shrinkage.
My 92 2.8D is not the fastest thing on earth but I just averaged 10.2l/100km on a 6000km trip from
Adelaide to Fraser Island & back. Not really gutless as such, just lacks acceleration, particularly noticeable when going to / from my 5.7L Cross8. 4Runner is a pretty good car IMHO.
