I've had
mine for about 50,000km and haven't any real complaints...exception of the lack of room in the back seats but in saying that was
well aware of that issue prior to buying and besides its my car so I do not sit in the back
seat.
Motor and gearbox have been good.
Suspension is ordinary from factory and upgrade is recommended.
Load scraping noise on full lock either direction is rectified by dab of grease on the steering bump stops, no biggie there but noise is a little alarming to the uniniated.
Is about it.

I traded
mine in after 50 000kms, apart from the dob of greae, already mentioned the thing was bullet proof. I also upgraded the
suspension, the rear leg room iwas a problem as my kides kept growing, otherwise a great vehicle if somewhat underpowered.

They are a great "car" if u use it like most that are on road.
Give it 20 odd thousand k's of dirt and it will fall apart around you.
Mine is only 18 mths old and has been back for warranty 6 times and is waiting upon Nissan to approve 6 cracked tray mounts on the chassis, one mount has totally fallen off. By no way has the thing been overloaded. Just 2 weeks ago I found a bracket that holds the rear brake distribution valve to the chasis simply snapped off. The cast iron valve was just hanging there by the brake hoses. I should have put the ute on a tow truck there and then.
It has cracked 2 Bullbars and the third will be put on shortly. I had to wait in Kalgoorlie for 2 weeks whilslt Nissan got it sorted out. The second one cracked doing 15kms an hour on the simpson.
The
seat belt light is staying on. The drivers
seat has sagged and I am only 63kgs.
There is more which I cannot think of offhand and when I do may post it.
As I said it is a great car if you don't intend to take it offroad too much.

Sounds like you got a lemon mate. I have 85000K on my ST-R now with a combination of towing a 20Ft van with boat outboard etc with the rest off-road and general driving. Apart from general servicing, tyres etc have not had a problem,
Regards Nav.

Just curious. What tyre pressures do you have when on the dirt?

Dave,
As I have said in a previous post my 03 hilux has copped much more punishment than this Navara. Appart from one bit of Kodak courage this Navara has been babied. I could not afford to have it die on me in the middle of some
places I have been.
Edward,
Tyre pressures range from 10psi to 30psi depending on what the conditions are like.

Mine's a Mar 03 with 132k on it. I tow a three horse float and get great fuel economy out of it (9.9 lt/100 empty, 16 lt/100 with he float behind). The only main problems that I've had are a shuderring clutch when hot, and the obligatory soft
suspension.
The
suspension was upgraded, the clutch I'm still working on - no one seems to know what's wrong with it.

Hi Jason
My Nav is a 98 d22 done 260,000ks and bullet proof
it works hard all week as im in the building industry allways carries a heap of weight in the back plus tows a tandem trailer and still performs
well when we go bush.

We have an 03 Twin cab 3.0 TD Navara, and its as tough as hell. 125,000 km on it.
Its for sale now, but only because I want a 4.2 lt TD Patrol, coil
suspension, and greater clearence, wheel articulation, and a softer ride ( for SWMBO ) are the order of the day.
Do a lot of fox shooting from it, and had it in some real dodgey
places on farms. Someties I get a little worried, in the grassy hills, but never had it slipping
Been in 2 outback trips, and has never missed a beat.
Yes the clutch shudders a bit, when hot, and towing out camper Trailer,
The standard
suspension, is soft, can safely carry about 400 kg's, then its on the bump stops. Fixed that by putting Ride Pro
suspension kit, and Ply Air bags on it. Only after our desert trips had stuffed it anyway.
Ours had a really bad case of turbo-lag, but a trip to a Dyno fixed that.
Economy is 9.5 km /lt local driving, and about 8 when towing on the black stuff. Across the Simpson it took 95 lts to get from
Birdsville to
Oodnadatta.
Cheers
Bucky
