without starting a brand war. quality portable fridges no matter what brand are obviosly pretty darn economical on power running off a car battery for 2-3 days.
Does this economical performance remain when running off of mains?
would i be adding much to my power bill running the WaEgal (yes we do have both) as a 2nd fridge

I run my Engel full time as my drink fridge,no noticeable increase in power bill and the beer is always at perfect drinking temp.

60watts when cycling - nothing when not.
That's like half a lightbulb.........not much at all.

At say 15c per Kw which is sort of what we pay in cities, 60w translates to 0.009c per hour when it is running but an average fridge down south would only run say 30% of an hour say really about $0.003c per hour. Good value.

Hi Davoe

While there are a wide range of products out their on average they are not as efficent as your average household fridge but they are economical because of there small size even when running off the mains.

So if its big enough go for it.

yea weve got an extra person in the house but they can be good because you set them to about 0deg making them ideal to keep meat and beer in while having the fridge at 4-5 deg - better for veges, spreads, jams bottled stuff etc
