looking at a 3in mandral for the 80 series my fitter suggested i replace my aircleaner element with a k/n type reusable oil coated one. the k/n web site claimes they do restrict air flow but the air they get is cleaner so its better do i stick with dry elements or change any help please mal b

One word DON'T, this has been discussed before, there is website with scientific testing of the standard and oiled filters which dosen't give them a very good rap.

Unifilters are good filters if you maintain them regular, they will filter better and flow more than std paper

Not wanting to get in a slanging match but sorry my experience is yes they do flow better but at the expense of letting very fine dust through.
I did a personal test over about ten years with my last troopy and there was always a fine layer of dust in the inlet between filter and manifold when inspected. The Unifilter was oiled by them as I live locally to the factory, with regular outer sock replacements (cheaper and easier to replace than wash and re-oil)
