The Primus compressor fridges that are currently for sale were designed for South Africa to 32oC ambient and unless they have been modified will not perform under our extreme conditions without modification.

They are sold in South Africa under the name of Snomaster.

The details are simple 40l AND 80l now being sold by Primus.
They are Chinese with a Chinese compressor (Good Compressor)
The Chinese would not upgrade them to 45oC ambient and would not comply them for sale in Australia as a 240V unit.

Under high ambient the head pressure will not allow the compressor to restart.

The jointing of the inner skin is not solder sealed and allows juices to penetrate the insulation and then stink.

This can be sealed with floor wax.

They can be a very efficient fridge with modification but the maker will not upgrade them to suit Australian conditions.

I have an origianl one that was sold here as Swagman that I have modified the condensing and it has worked 24/7 for over 2 years as a freezer but if you cannot do the upgrade or the upgrade has not been down then may fail under high ambient conditions.

Your information is right up the creek
why do you want to post information that is not right and damaging to the company. You obviously have a vested interest in damaging Primus. Nobody makes a compressor fridge for 32C. South Africa is no different to Australia in temps.

If the truth hurts then so be it.
What qualifies you TLA to be so sure that I am up the creek and have you had any 1st hand experience with the fridges.
Ask Primus if they have had a raft of problems with them and how they fixed them.
I hope they have a win win as they have the potential to be excellent value.
So South Africa is the same as Australia thats funny I would have thought it was narrow at a lower latitude than most of Australia and did not suffer the vast hot dry climate of the Australian interior.
Now if you were talking Africa you might be close but then you would know that that is where Snomaster did have the most some problems with them.
Snomaster checks and tests every indiviidual product before delivering to a customer to ensure it is OK imagine the cost if Primus had to do the same.
BTW the name iof the Vice President of the Chinese Company that produces them is David and he is married with one child
and he thinks I play hard ball because I picked fault with his fridge and after I did they put on 6 University Graduate Engineers to hopefully sort out the problems.
