Hi Guys, I was hoping some one could help I am looking for some where around
Busselton where you can
camp with a camper trailer legally and not in a caravan
park that is relitively close to a
nice beach, fishing spot. Been to conto's was very disappointed. It was too
park like , was kept awake for two nights with other people yahooing and drinking.
I have little kids and would like to be able to get the car as close to
the beach as possible to save the many trips to and from the car with gear etc...... I am used to
camping in the north, where
the beach is still reasonably accessible.

Go to this website and download the one called WA
CampCAMPS
These are meant for a GPS but if you have Office XL you will be able to read all the sites

There is a book that is what you are looking for . It is called Priceless Campsites & Rest areas in the South of WA.
Author Jan Holland.
And it is available from this site. $24.95
It is worth every penny and gives a description of every site with things to do etc and even has GPS co-ordinates.

Camping spot in
Busselton close to
the beach? Not too many of those. your best bet is beyond the other side of the moon, towards margarets etc.
There is a great place near cape mentelle, not the winery, the actual cape ;) It is called Kilcarnup and offers shady
camping within a stones throw of
the beach. Kilcarnup bay is
well sheltered and offers plenty of swimming, diving for crays and abalone, fishing and walking.
Enterence is off caves road, about 5ish kays north of the prevelly turn off. It enters an estate (name eludes me) but heads down to the coast. TUrns into a gravel road, then comes to a
T junction. Turn right, follow and just before the bay there is a softish track off to the right. Turn here for
camping.
Plenty of exploring, plenty of quiet bays along the coast, good surf to the north. No
camp fires though, as the rangers dont take kindly.
Nothing there to indicate that you cant
camp in this spot as it is technically shire land. A few kays north sees you in natio
park.

I can second Mikes suggestion. Kilcarnup is a lovely spot. From memory, that road off Caves Rd, through the semi-rural estate to the track is actually called Kilcarnup Rd - Should make things easier to find.
