Yes this is another post on
the Pyrenees trip. As most will know this was my first trip since my surgery in April and what a weekend. Previous to this weekend I hadn't been behind the wheel of the 4by for more than an hour but with the help of a kidney belt/back brace I survived.
I must thank a few people for their efforts over the weekend that helped make it so enjoyable.
Firstly John and Helen your efforts to make everything flow so smoothly over the weekend is a credit to you.
Glen, our fearless trip leader on Saturday. Sam was very impressed that you were aware of the vehicle capabilities, especially ours LOL. But it survived except for the slightly dinted front bash plate ha ha Must get into cleaning it now ready for selling it.
Yesterday's drive to Cootamundra was pretty amusing as we let the Tom Tom decide which way we went and ended up near Romsey, I should have dropped in to see the Cruiser LOL. Great drive though.
So to all that attended thanks for being part of a great weekend and Thanks to all those who were stand in Babysitters at various times over the weekend.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Queensland Gathering that I have been told that I am to organise when I get there :))
Cheers Kev

Good onya Kev. Glad to hear you had a great time as no doubt many others did as
well. Also its good to know you "survived" a longer trip with the help of a few aids, but I can imagine there were times when you were sort of uncomfortable due to that major op you had. Anyway I guess it's a good
sign that you are
well on the way to recovery & you would now be feeling better about tackling longer trips.
One day I would like to attend such a gathering & if you do organise such an event in your home state I will make a point of being there. I promise to bring my own lights, food, electricity etc. if that is of any help. I only ask that you provide directions on how to get to QLD as many information centres in our area have not heard of it.

Barry,
As long as I don't have to get a beer from your electrically charged fridge, your more than welcome. As for directions
well you may have to pass the border scrutineers to get there LOL
As for the car, I cant wait for the cruiser now as I will get decent seats that will allow even more comfort than the standard ones :))
Cheers Kev

Directions To Get To Queensland.
Wake up early, drive eastward (thats toward the rising sun, for NSW people)
When you can't go any further turn left (that's northward).
When you hit the ocean you're in Queensland(
Cape York,I think.)
Simple ain't it
Disco.

OI
I will organise it when I get there, I may even get one done for around the NSW North Coast around Christmas yet, as there is plenty to do around
Coffs Harbour,
Grafton etc. Unless there is a member up there somewhere that wants to organise it with some local knowledge.

So when do you expect to pick the cruiser up? I remember reading one of your posts just after you bought it & the extensive mods you are having done to it all of which sounded good.

I know a few good tracks on Palm Island ;))
It was a shame that we couldn't tag along for the run yesterday but thats life I guess. We may have to plann for a few more detours/delays in the future when heading to gatherings to allow us those opportunities.
Cheers Kev

G'day Kev, great to meet you mate and if you see the other post just done, you may understand why we hadn't posted earlier. It was four pages in the word processor. LOL
Lovely to meet Sam and the girls too Kev. Hey are you organising a reunion at The Al's when you get down for the collection? Now that is a thought.
thank you for your really thoughtful comments above about the smooth organisation. It wasn't a one man or woman band as we had others who had planned their time too, Lucky, Bonz, Des Lexic, Glenn and Chris G, they/we all had parts to play. Just that Lucky re-planned his to reassure us he was on his way back.
Once again mate, you are welcome to call if this way

John,
Now that's a thought. We could even do a rerun of
the Pyrenees to give the Cruiser a test before it leaves the state LOL
I am just glad I didn't win any of the raffle prizes ;))
Cheers Kev
