Kev and Kiwi,
I had to go past the
shop in Penrith and from what the manager said that the
winches are brought as a job lot and do not stock them all the time.
Checking out the trading post, ebay or the trader on this site might be the go.
BTW I have two Warn 9000lb
winches sitting in the garage, just got to overhaul then and then put them in the Trader. Hope to have them listed by Christmas.

Try the ironman winch, they are the same, if you have an outlet near you.

I have the Aldi winch which is just an Ironman winch. I suspect they sold them through Aldi to move them on faster because Ironman have a new upgraded version now. It has a heat sink on the end of it and the control box is now waterproof. I think it may be even more rust resistent now. I spoke to the owner of Ironman at the
Melbourne 4x4 show who seemed to be a very generous person and I think their backup service is excellent. And theirs nothing wrong with the older version of these
winches. Parts are interchangeable between them and very cheap too.

Laura,
Although you can't ring the stores directly, stores can ring each other to check stock availability. I had one do this when I was after an in-car DVD player. Try to pick a quiet time and look for a manager-type person.
I haven't seen any around the stores west of
Melbourne for a while although they did have the accessory kits still.
