We have imported a fifth wheel, which we used on holidays in the USA.
We are having trouble finding an insurance company to cover us on our fifth. Seems until it is complied to Australian certifications no one is interested in insuring us. For now we are needing to travel home from the shipping port on a permit ( yet to be registered here)
Any suggestions appreciated

Would'nt have anything to do with the door on the right side would it, although once in a park it don't matter where the door is .

My son has a camper van from the U.S. It has the door on the "wrong" side but no problem insuring it but it has been wired to 240v standards.

Bite the bullet & find out what you need to do for Australian compliance. You will need to spend a few bucks though, but thats the price to pay.

Perhaps finding a certified Engineer who would be willing to help you.

I think power & the door will be your main problems, depending on the weight the brakes may also need some attention.
