If you are going via the South Coast there are no problems. Only minor ups and downs.

If you head inland to say Canberra or Cooma there are some tough climbs but plenty of people with your set up do it.

Past Melbourne it is virtually flat all the way to Broome.

Long way to travel to a place that is grossly over rated.

Colin,

Yeah, but there are plenty of under rated places to explore between Melbourne and Broome via the south coast.

Esperance, Albany, Denmark, Treetop Walk, Walpole, Augusta, Margaret River, plus, plus ..........and that's before you even get to Perth.

I tend to agree that Broome is a "bit" overrated but there's plenty to see on the way.
I won't even attempt to list them but there ARE plenty.

Disco.

Cars on your way up the coast call into 80 Mile Beach and rest a while even a mug like me caught a feed. Great little spot. 10k in on th egravel and Bob's your Aunty. Missed what sort of vehicle you're in but if you've got a 4bee the beach is a cinch to drive on.
Plenty of shade in the van park and very friendly spot.
Broome - overrated to buggery.

Road up is relatively easy going. The wind can be a problem depending on time of year.

Noted your in a sedan. Oh well the road in is still gravel but not too bad and the beach is still excellent to walk on.

Cars,

there are no hills on the North West Coast - you can watch you dog run away for three days.

(sorry - old Saskatchewan joke)
