I have a 1992 Nissan Patrol / Maverick LWB RB30 engine recently converted to LPG with an OMVL system. Although the car runs most of the time normally , after it warms up there is a loss in power and the engine "hunts" it will tick over but when the throttle is pushed it fails to rev to more than about 2000 revs and then drops back to tick over, it doesn't stall. I've checked the 3 valves on the
tank, before the vapourizer, and on the vapourizer they seem ok. Anyone out there experienced the same
Regards Don Murray

Take it back to the installer? obviously a warranty issue.

I'd agree..
THe other issue is since this rebate thing started, theres many dodgey installers out there. up road from work, a tirepower joint changed overnight to LPG installation experts!!
not sure who did this blokes but would be worth asking

You would think that since the govt is handing out rebates they would only do so when certified installer is involved in the process.
The other 'trap' with gas conversions as my son found out with his Range Rover is that after ten years the entire gas installation has to be reinspected and the
tank examined internally, valves and other bits have to be replaced and the end cost was more than any perceived 'savings' by running the vehicle on gas.

I agree they should test the installers more often.
Note the price of LPG creeping up like a space shuttle in recent months??

hi there don
firstly go to an expert rather than guess.
secondly take a look at the thread 51628. there are 2 replies i poseted on there with info on lpg that you will find worthwhile.
after talking to "my expert" he suggests you get the mixture adjusted each time you replace or clean the air filter at a service. should be a minimal charge as its only 5 to mins work. I posted the number of jamie and i suggest you ring him to have a chat. if your in his area go see him. he does seem to know what is going on. good luck mick

Doesnt explain the power loss but just check the a/c is off whilst all this is happening. To eliminate the RB30 a/c idle up piston.
If the adjustment was overdone during installation it could push the revs up too high as the compressor cuts in. May as
well eliminate the simple things! Cheers
