Anyone got one?? Know someone that has one?

Good news, bad news........any sort of news.

Had a 'girls look' in the archives but not much info.

Have seen them at the usual 4wd shows and they appear to
be quite good...but.

Cheers
Michael

Bloody expensive.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they all keep stuff cold.

What Jim said.
Every man and his dog were flogging them at the 4wd show this weekend. Looked like an excellent product but I aint won Lotto this weekend, so they'll stay in the shop a tad longer for me.

Lots of blokes on the Africian forum have them, good fridge but in this country best to stick with Ozzie proven products such as Engel.

Michael,

I owned the 73 litre model (2 door fridge freezer) for two years and can highly recommend National Luna. The dual door/dual thermostat model is a very efficient fridge with excellent insulation qualities due to the thick side walls. The only reason I got rid of it was I sold my dual cab ute and my current 4WD doesn't have as much room for such a large fridge. Over the years I have also owned the Engel, Autofridge & Weaco compressor fridges which will also do the required job and I have not had a problem with any of them. The only negative for the Natiional Luna model I owned was the weight at about 45kgs from memory and you needed a fair bit of room for the 73 litre model.
Good Luck, you pay plenty for them but they really are of commercial quality in my opinion.

Michael,
bear in mind that I live in Africa, so for me to get a mate to freight one up from S Africa was cheap - fridge didnt cost me any more than an engel etc. But apart from price issues the fridge is a super bit of kit. I have a SS 40L and yes it is heavy but it is very solid and performs well. It is the only fridge i have owned, but seems to be well insulated, very good on current draw and in general I am well please,
Gil

Thanks for the replies,

I guess that as a product for keeping food/drinks cold or frozen they would do very well...but, are they value for money??

Decisions decisions decisions........and what about after sales
service??

Will stick to local made methinks...

cheers

The all stainless steel model will take some hard work and you won't have hassles with the Danfoss compressor either.

It looks like it will out-last the 'plastic' ones available now, I mean have you looked inside an e**** recently?

what I mean is, I looked inside an e*** at the Camping show and the gas pipe come into the fridge compartment from the compressor was via a hole in the floor of the fridge, through a rubber grommet that's a very loose fit.

If you look at the National Lunar you see it's fully sealed, you could fill it with liquid and it would do no harm, if the same was done to the 'other' fridge it would spill down into the electronics and cause havoc, just an observation, possibly not a real hassle - till it happens.
