Opps bugger does not work, just cut and paste, this is a fishing site, I'm sure you will get plenty of great advise on the rig you are looking at.

Barry,

If you do not find anything decent please let me know I have been thinking if creating a parallel site of ExplorOz related to boating. If there is general interest in this then also please let me know. It is not difficult to duplicate the site across other activities.

You will notice we have a little boat content on ExplorOz and a parallel system would allow us to share content in this area.

Rather than start another site you would be better off encompassing into this site boating and possibly other similar core outdoor activities in respective tabs so you can flick between one and another rarther than go to another different address.

David

If this site or a duplicate of it focused on boating/fishing etc, that would be fantastic.

It would also be the trigger for me of being a casual user /registered visitor on the 4wd side to becoming a full paid member if boating/fishing was included.

Cheers

We would be starters for a boat forum as we own 3 boats and have had our trials and tribulations with them.

We also now have some interesting input to those who have larger boats powered by Mercruiser V8's after all our problems that took 2 years to fix with the local mechanics and no doubt only a few weeks if we had a forum.

F4Phantom & Age,

Thanks for the followups. I have started installing the boating content within the ExplorOz base code (been on-going for several months in fact, along with motor bike, push bike and walking). As we are not experts on every topic we are treading a little slowly in the complete turn on of this content however I will take you comments on board and see what is involved in getting some more content fired up.

Tab based forum selection would be how I would best like to implement the Boat stuff and will see what is involved. I am just in the middle of contract negotiations on the site hosting and have been factoring these addiitonal areas into the discussions, so will know some more once I put all the dollars together in the next few days.

A thought just came to mind while I was typing and maybe we could maintain the forum as is being ExplorOz forum contains everything in a single view - then have a Tab to get to the specific verticals such as 4WD, Caravan, Boat etc this will then filter the results to only the choosen master category. I do not know yet (I hate categories) however this will give us the best of both worlds I think - More thinking required. Thanks again.

Have had a 4.85 Trailcraft with 60 hp 4 stroke Yamaha and very happy so far, still learning how to use GPS and Fishfinder to best effect. Towing with aFord Ranger and with an Adventure Camper Tray Top. The bloke I brought it from was going up to the 6.1 Sports Cab as he was so happy with the brand.
I would love to see a boating add on to this site.

Have a look at www.seamedia.com.au, lots of independent tests and reviews dating back 15years or so, all free. Go to the Boat Tests link on the left.

They've done a fair bit of work/review on Trailcraft product over the past 5-6 years, and more recently a detailed test of the Trailcraft Sportscab 640 which might be of interest to you.

Peter Webster (the editor) tells it like it is which is refreshing, doesn't seem to kow tow to advertising pressure etc. with respect to stating his opinion on a product.

No affiliation just a loyal supporter.
