Have had one of these for approx 2 weeks, went west of batemans bay to nelligen an area with no phone reception.Result the new phone worked only approx 1 kilometer further than old phone, raising the ariel made absolutely no difference, overall the range is only marginally better/different to my old nokia.
Have it matched to blue ant blue tooth device in the car, this is hopeless calls drop out before the device picks up the call frequently.Have already had it replaced still no good

Just bought a nextG phone an hour ago ( LG550 ) on a 30buck plan.....couldn't decide between it and the Telstra165 ??

Was thinking of a small aerial for the windscreen to improve reception in the bush but don't know if will be a waste of time or not ???? Haven't got room on the bullbar for a big aerial ??

On-glass aerials are a waste of time.

Just spent over an hour on the phone being told to convert. Came back to the Nokia 6120 but in the end told them I will wait till Telstra gives me some incentive to change (because them turning off the network does not bother me - they will just not get any money from me). I do not want to have to spend more per month, have to pay cash for a car kit and still have worse service than I currently have with the CDMA.

I really want a PDA with decent camera (better then 4MP), running Windows Mobile. The new N95 has the camera but runs Nokia's OS which does not support my mapping applications so just have to wait. Was looking at the Nokia as a stop gap as the PDA will not be around for the next few months, but as there is no incentive to change then I will wait.
