Afternoon,

With only 24 more sleep till we leave ( not that we are counting), just wondering if anyone has updated fuel ( diesel ) prices. We are coming from the WA side of the border.

Van is packed ( well sort of), Anderson plug attached, along with electric brakes, now roll on 15 December.

Call in at the Eyre Bird Sanctuary and say G'day to John & Bev- I'm sure they'll make you a cuppa...

Willem,
I just had a look, and the only price listed was Eucla. Funnily enough those that charge the huge prices missed out on being listed :-)

And Ceduna and Portagutta

THat will give a good average. If one needs to refuel at the expensive ones it is best to carry your chequebook with you...:-)

Cheers

Debbie,
After Norseman, best diesel prices are at
SAFF Mundrabilla
SAFF Nundroo and
Caltex at Penong.

Everything else can be exhorbitantly high.

And I think the Independant seller at Eucla is also reasonable.

Phil, came through there about 5 weeks ago and Eucla prices are the same as Mundrabilla. I'd use Mundrabilla as they started the lower prices and it cuts out having to fill before Norseman if you don't have the fuel capacity to go all the way.

$1.40 at Nundroo for Diesel and $1.37 for Biodiesel Saturday.

Cheers,
Andrew back from the western deserts... but wanting to go back again soon despite the 47 degree days.

I thought only Eucla was listed. Hubby and b-i-l ( we are all going) are number crunching and just wanted to know if there was any updated fuel prices.

We are doing the trip over in four days, with two nights at CP in Melbourne, before the ferry ride to Davenport ( which by the way costs a fortune for the cars ( patrol and pathfinder) and caravans ( Jayco Freedom and Windsor Rapid). Spending two weeks in Tassie.

We are taking the long way home along the Great Ocean Rd, my middle son is really dyslexic ( not like the forum's Des Lexic), so we are giving him a chance to learn a bit about Eyre and his travels. He learns by doing, not by reading.

Thanks for the input.

Debbie< 25 days and 15 hours to go :-)

Drove it a couple of weeks ago. Eucla is the place to fill up around $1.44 L for diesel everywhere else was around 20c to 30c more.

The SAFF locations at Port Augusta, Ceduna, Nundroo and Mundrabilla as well as the independent at Eucla (as distinct from the border village) are the lower priced locations generally.
