I have a DTC P2135 engine fault (throttle valve assembly), before I go and replace it, is there any special procedure that should be followed after clearing the fault? e.g. does the car need to be driven so computer can go through a learning process. The fault keeps re-occurring each time it is cleared, however the car hasn't not been driven after the fault clearing. Thanks for any advice given.

Hi Steve

No not particularly - it does retune itself a bit but not much.

Mines a manual so that actual throttle turning is not electronic but by cable however I had a similar fault after measuring the valve clearances and didn't click the throttle connector home quite fully when putting rocker cover back on.

There is a test and reset option in the diagnostic procedure of the throttle position sensor. I can’t remember all of it, but its something like turn the ignition on without starting the engine and fully depress and release the throttle twice, then turn off the ignition and it should be reset. Resetting the MIL and DTC is in the manual or can be done with an OBD-II tool.
The TPS may just need adjusting.

thanks for the tips. tried your suggestions but fault keeps coming back. could be intermittent fault, or maybe the sensor is stuffed.
