Does anyone know or heard of a proposed track/road from Gnarloo to Coral Bay. I recently read an article somewhere, but can't seem to find it again saying the Canarvon Shire was looking at putting a road through as the current track is not open to public use.

Cheers

First I've heard of it Brett.
There used to be a dirt track but station owners closed it due to the irresponsible public (once again) I believe. Will investigate.

Hi Brett,

News to me but I'd be interested in knowing if it is going ahead. As already stated, the station tracks going through there are closed to the public but there are a couple of stations between Gnarloo and CB that do allow public access including camping, for a small access fee. I believe you have to come in from the north near CB though rather than up thru Gnarloo. We're planning to go into one of the stations for a few nights in early July on our way to/from Ningaloo so if you want more details let me know.

Cruiser,
Find the Canarvon blowholes on the map and then follow the coast up past Red Bluff and you will find Gnarloo Station. There isn't a great deal there, except some spectacular coastline and great fishing. There is a caravan park and an area to launch boats.
Just one of those great places to be!!
Cheers

I hope not, bloody lovely bit of coast and a road would really stuff it. The moonscape caprock that forms the majority of the track from Gnaraloo to Warroora would require major earthworks to make it plausible. Not a good idea.
