CHALLENGER 1 (QLD)
Hi I have been trying to find out if I can legally fit a winch to my Challenger as it is fitted with airbags and there are no commercially made winch bars to suit, any suggestions?
Thanks
John

Have you contacted suppliers of 4WD winch bars, like TJM or ARB?
Maybe you should do that first.

An idea left of centre! My neighbour has a Kia
Sorrento, with a factory fit bullbar. He has a Hayman Reece assembly (square tube) fitted to the under side of same. Then he had a metal plate fitted to the bottom of his winch, with the required square tube to fit the bullbar mount. As you can guess, the winch is now portable, front or back. Admittedly, you now need somewhere to store the winch within the vehicle. But that is a possible solution for you. good luck - Truk

I have actually looked into this myself. I believe the earlier ARB bars will fit the later Challengers but need to be modified. The eggcrate grill on the later model is the culprit as it dips below headlight height unlike the earlier Challengers. So possibly cut the grill flush for the ARB bar or do a cutout on the bar for the grill.
