Some of you mob must have built Pompeii-style ovens.
Any advice,contacts?
"FornoBravo" seems to be the cooking counterpart of "Exploroz", in that both sites are head and shoulders above all others.
Trouble is, FornoBravo is American, so a lot of material comments don't necessarily apply.
Thanks for any advice eh.
Jeff.

He's a solid plasterer here in Geelong and also Melbourne, but tells me he also builds the solid dome ovens which he learnt to build in Palestine with his plastering work. He has built some here in Geelong for some businesses also. Apparently there is a trick to the chimney part so the smoke flows out properly.

I'm in a position where smoke from a wood fired oven would go straight to the neighbour's patio so I'm looking at gas or electric.

This site has some pictures and I'm sure they are available all over Oz:

Have a look at this site
http://www.traditionaloven.com/index.html
there is a guy in QLD who builds these ovens and has a very helpful site. For $20 he will send you a CD with about 700 construction photos plus lots of written info on how to build your own oven. I have built two now and they work fabulously well. I am happy to give you more info if you would like just e-mail me separately.

Hey Jeff,

I helped the wifes uncle build one a few years ago, very entertaining LOL

We based it on

These plans

Turned out pretty good but a bit larger, as bigger is always better.

Cheers Kev
