Hi,
My 80s Landcruiser doesnt have any tow hooks so I picked up a couple of generic tow hooks from a 4WD store. The problem is the holes in the chassis for the bolts are about 5mm too close to each other. Is there a specific tow hook that I have to purchase or am I looking in the wrong place?
Cheers
Fil

I've got an early series 105 cruiser live axle and I had to get special recovery points as the generic one would not fit

Yo Bubbles,
I had exactly the same problem with my 80 series.
I got my hook from TJM and it was like yours. They discussed in the
shop and the one you need fits both the 80 and 100 series. The holes are correct in this one as I have now fitted
mine with no probs. Take it back and ask for the correct one coz it does exist.

Pixie is correct, late model patrols come with a good recovery hook that bolts straight onto a LC. I've got one on my 80s. (This should generate some colourful feed back)

I ended up going to ARB & TJM etc & found they usually keep a bucket of removed tow hooks from when the fit new bull bars so i ended up with x4 of these for $5 each. (don't know what they are off)
The holes lined up exactly.
