Hi,
I have an '02 1HZ105R Cruiser that seems to have high oil pressure. The in dash guage reads above 3/4 when at 2500rpm. I had it tested at ultratune at the last service and the readings were 200KPA at idle and 500-600KPA at 3000RPM. They thought it was a bit high too and contacted Toyota, who told them that this was normal / fine. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is it not a problem or should I look at it further. Ultra tune checked and cleaned the pressure relief valve and said that it was fine and not fouled up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi, I have 01 HZJ105 and when driving the oil pressure gauge sits on the mark that indicates the top of normal range. At idle it sits on the bottom mark for normal range. I've had other cruisers read totally different for the same revs. Because the gauge doesn't have any numbers on it - it is only an indication and since you have had the actual pressure tested I wouldn't be concerned at all.

The specs are:
At Idle 29kPa or more,
at 3000 rpm 200 - 600kPa.
There is nothing wrong with your system. You have good pressure at idle [although the engine does not need much pressure at idle] and ideal [to spec.] pressure at 3000rpm.
Happy driving
