I second that, always wondered why there was no return line but guess it had to do with the pintle injectors used on the 2H engine.

HJ47's didn't have a return line. I have heard that the HJ60's did but not sure about the HJ75's (1984-89).
The HZJ75 (1990-98), HZJ80 and HZJ79's did have a fuel return line.

Hi Sweeney, (a bit off topic)
I have just had a look at your photos and note the one labelled 'Morning Glory'. Did this cloud roll through on the ground? I have seen them pass overhead at about 500 feet but did not know that they can occur at ground level. was there much noise and what speed was it traveling at ?

What you see is not cloud, but a fine dust from memory. The photo is early morning shot of a fence line (two weeks later there was a fence), with slight cross wind blowing the fine dust giving the appearance of cloud/mist. I uploaded a another showing the fine dust of the area. Amazing place Australia is...

Grant,
It all depends what type of fuel pump is used.
The 2H has a in-line pump with no return fuel line, and if it has a rotary pump it has a return line.

12ht has an inline and returns fuel. it is done from the injectors rather than the pump ala 1hz

All 2H's have a return line, but the HJ47's return the lift pump not to the
tank. I heard that the HJ60's return to the fuel
tank but I am not sure.
