Hi Guys, Magic weather in FNQ. You should be up here.
I have a 84 cruiser and am having trouble with it jumping out of top gear when slowing down or breaking. l have been told it is a linkage adjustment not any thing really serious. Any ideas would be helpful.

very common. Just means its on the way out
- However you can wait a VERY long time for them to completley give up after this starts.
I waited 4 years but ended up selling it coz I couldnt wait any longer

bit of a pessamistic outlook I went 1/2 way round australia in 1 trip and the only thing that didnt give me trouble was the g box
knew another guy who used to have a strap to hold it in 5th while towin his caravan to all the pistol shooting comps had been doing it for years. chances are the 60 will rust out before the g box needs replacing

Mine started like that. After maybe 20,000 km it would only stay in 5th by keeping a hand on it. A couple of thousand after that 3rd was going the same way. Took a rebuild and $$$ to fix.
