The current user list seems to vary from around 150 up to 400, at any given time through the day.

Yesterday, about 10.00am EST, the score was close to 1400 users. An hour later it was a long wait to log on, could the site have been "full"? Of course the majority of the users were the anonymous ones. With that sort of coverage, many retailers don't know what they are missing. Hooroo...

Bob,

I actually suspect that we had a web crawler racking up connections to index the site. This happens every now and then. I was recovering from my birthday party and I did not look at the system. Anyway there should not be a user limit however with 1400 connections the databases would be very busy. As you can imaging if it was a search engine they go and hit every page on the site and collect information - this site has over 5000 pages of content and every one of them has multiple database calls thus at 1400 sessions and a lot of them being run via software they hit the system very hard and fast - this may have had the logon impact.

I will check the logs anyway. Thanks. Regards

Thanks David,

From memory, the list was just over 1,100 when I first logged on, but climbed rapidly to the figure mentioned by time I logged off, about 20 mins later. Of course, the numbers were in anonymous list.

Happy birthday, too!

Hooroo...
