I know this topic has been flogged to death alot already but i want to add my two cents....Why have some of the national parks with minimal facilities doubled in price i think it is a joke if anyone here knows why the nsw national parks and wildlife service thinks they can charge caravan
park prices and still expect to get patrons is beyond me......PS if anyone knows of cheap or free
campground near eden on the south coast give me a buzz.....
My two cents!

Agree - me thinks they don't want anyone in the parks. Will be heading into northern NSW in May and will give parks a miss and
free camp.

i have just returned from the yurirgar national
park camping area at minnie
water 'illaroo'. fees are now $20 a night plus vehicle permit if you don't have one.
over the last few years they have put in a new 2 km access road, new
toilets, have done substantial revegitation and barrier work, new gas bbq's, provide fire wood and rubbish collection now seem to have a consciences friendly caretaker saw him cleaning the
toilets more than once a day, he was there there most of the time and what a top spot to get away from the rat race,a beautiful part of australia.
the alternative that i have seen at
free camp areas is the
toilet litter and rubbish everywhere, the innumerable
camp fire sites that kill the grass and turn the ground black, the irresponsible trimming of trees for fire wood and the real pain in northern nsw is the motor bikes from dawn to dust if you are lucky.
i for one don't mind paying for the privilege of staying in these wonderful spots and remember you can still find the smaller less developed sites for $5 a night.

Because they have had the same budget for the last 5yrs, no increases at all, so they only have one means of raising some money too help maintain what they can.
Under staffed, under funded and too many parks to try to maintain.
There's good
camping at Wog Wog or closer you could try Nadgee SF, Yambulla SF, Grupa SF.
