Good Morning to All
Thinking of a trip to
Double Island Point this weekend, weather pending.
Would appreciate if any members can comment on the
beach access as I read recently it was not good due to storm activity causing damage to some areas around the point.
Thanks
Lockey

I was up there about 2 months ago and you can't turn left to go up
the beach to
rainbow but you can turn right and drive all the way to the point. Best bet will be to give the rangers a ring up there to get the latest conditions

Hi Lockey,
The Leisha track was closed due to erosion on the southern end of
Rainbow Beach however at low tide it has become passable again at times. National Parks recommend that
Rainbow beach to
Inskip point is accessible with caution.
Conditions do vary so best to have alternative plans to get through to
Rainbow beach (Freshwater track) if the tide is up or it has changed. I was there a month ago and it had improved.
cheers

Security is mostly a superstition. It doesnt exist in nature. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

A mate of
mine came from
Rainbow Beach via the Freshwater Track and down to
Tewantin last Sunday afternoon (low tide was around 3pm I think). Said the track was good as was
the beach. Don't know about the Leisha track though. National Parks on the website have a Cooloola Conditions Report which is generally updated every fortnight but is a bit out of date now. I have posted the link.
