I'm borrowing my Aunt/Uncle's Patrol and am amazed at the vibration that i get when accelerating out of a tight corner. I can feel it in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear.
It is a 95 model with the 4.2 petrol, carby engine, its done around 240000kms. I'm from a toyota background (not wishing to start a long debate) and understand that the nissan Diffs are far stronger and their LSD have a better life expectancy than toyota... Is this vibration standard with these diffs?
It appears to have no lift and runs 31inch tyres on 15inch sunraysias...
Any advice/opinions will be helpful.
Sam

Gday Sam
I had the same problem with my old GQ , as did my son with his , its a simple fix most times , all you need to do is change the diff oil , making sure you use the correct type , cant remember exactly what its called limslip 90 or something like that, if that doesn't fix it then i think the prob will be more serious ...hope this helps
Cheers.......Dave

Sounds like the problem. I used to use BP's Limslip 140 in my old Mav/GQ, but you can only get it now in 200L drums.
Nissan recommended 90 for normal conditions, and 140 for over 40degC with their additive.
Rang Nissan re oil for my current GU, and they reckoned that Castrol LSX85W/140 would be fine. It seems to give no problems in practice.
Nissan do sell an LSD additive for the GQ/GU diffs, can't recall the part number.
Cheers, Gerry
