Jumped in the 4by this morning, off to work we go!, reversed 4mtrs , what the hell! something not right sure enough ,flat left hand front. Same thing happened about a month ago with a left rear, anyhow the spare was fine last episode, and appeared ok this rouhd , until i got on the freeway and got a bit of pace happening, the vibration in the front was so bad i had to pull over.
On inspection i found two lumps on the inner side wall the size off golf balls, the tyre a michelain 750 x16 would probably be about 4yr old..
Glad i was close to home!
Cheers Axle.

One good reason to have 5 wheel rotation for maintenance schedule rather than just the more common 4 wheel rotation!

I would have thought with the cost of 4WD tryres that most people would be right onto a rotation plan.
Rotation of the spare is more important than a normal car as uneven tread wear on the same axle can cause diff wind up.

Maybe that's another reason for dragging two spares around.
