Has anyone any comments about Maxxis Bravo 751 tyres in 205R-16 size for a 4wd ute.
I have been offered them at $185 fitted.

I am replacing Hankook which have worn very badly and fast.

We have the 265x75x16's on the LC.

Dont know about the price as we bought the car over 2 yrs ago with them on and so far so good.although we did have 12 months with coopers on - before and after a trip). A bloke at work told us he gets around 60 - 65,000 km out of them which makes it a hell of a lot cheaper running 4wd tyres than say a ford that only gets 20,000km out of them even at the price you gave.

you wont be disapointed with these tyres.

mine are a bit bigger than the size you quote but for the price I am a convert.

I had Pirrelli's before and wouldn't touch them again even with a Cruiser (I have a Patrol). 3 of the 4 had to be ditched with sidewall bubbles.

I was 1 of 3 vehicles that recently crossed the Simpson and didn't have a problem with the Maxxis Bravo's. On that trip there were problems with 3 tyres, all on 1 vehicle (need I say it, the only Cruiser Hahaha) and all Coopers. He won't buy those again also.

I intend to put the Maxxis on my bus again when the current ones finally give up.

I have gone from BFG AT's to the Maxxis. had to consider the price. I am still running the standard Patrol size of 265/70/16 and so far so good.

The only thing I have found is that do tend to be a little skatey on gravel and a little wishy on the road compared to the BFG's. Given the price however I dont think I can complain, considering that I have saves in excess of $100 / corner.

Will see how they perform and wear across the next 8 or 9 months and then decide whether or not to replace them with the same or go back to my beloved BFG's.

The one thing I can say about the BFG's is that from my last set I did manage to get 110,000 kms with only 1 punture which after being plugged was fine. If the Maxxis can manage 70,000 - 80,000 kms with the same reliability then I may just stick with them.

Cheers

I have a set for my 80 Series - bought them because of the price and found them to be a very good tyre both on and off the road. I will buy them again as well as getting a set for my wife's Pulsar (albiet a bit smaller in size LOL)

Hi Phil
I have the larger ones on my Series 80. Put them on at 180K and now have 245K with quite a bit of tread left. I will definately buy them again.

Cheers

Howard.
