I've had enough of my Hilux scraping tyres on angles, etc and am looking for a nice upgrade and lift to it. Given it's IFS it goes from a simple, cheap mod to being pretty exxy unfortunately.

My plan was to go OME & Nitrochargers, get about 40mm lift. Damn pricey though, quotes of around $1800 fitted.

Anyone with same hilux model done their suspension? If so, what did you get and are you happy with it? Opinions and suggestions most welcome! :)

Cheers,
Nathan

I have an 04 SR5 Hilux. I previously had a 99 SR5 Hilux. Both IFS.
The first one I put RidePro leaves, tortion bars and shocks. Good lift, suspension too firm. Good for bitumen cornering, not good for articulation or comfort. Daughter has it now and tows horse float, good for that. The 04 model I put TJM leaves and shocks and kept standard tortion bars. I chose comfort ride, good articulation, nice ride, more sway on corners, not enough lift. Put 2" longer shackles on to improve lift, wound up front. To prevent excessive wear on CV joints when at higher speeds on road fitted manual locking hubs so they don't turn. You will still be frustrated with wheels lifting on front in rough stuff because of IFS. I fitted an auto LOKKA in front diff to help with this. My car is good for touring, sand and better in rough stuff. Suspension about $1400, shackles I forget, Lokka fitted about $800, AVM hubs I forget. Suspension TJM, other stuff from Goannanywhere SA.
