I have banned this user from the system. At least from using this email address. This particular person has used the following names on the system:
Martin Brown
Martin
Paul Cerefax
Norfridge Repairs
Mich Brown
Shirly
Ester
Neil Winmar
Figgus the Scot
Mich Brown
I have also deleted all of the current round of crap. I cannot stand wasting my time on idiots that casue other users to leave my site. I work hard on my business and if anyone upsets someone enough to cause them to indicate that they are going to leave ExplorOz then I will remove that person from the system.
I AM SICK OF WASTING MY TIME ON THESE IDIOTS AND HAVING TO READ THE UTTER CRAP THAT THESE GOOSES POST ON MY SYSTEM - GET LOST AND DO NOT COME BACK.
Furthur, one more incident and I will ban all users from free email server systems such as hotmail because it is these email system that allow the idiots to masquerade around the Internet as anyone they like. if you want to interact with my users and site then use your real ISP email or not at all. This will be my next step. The code is written to do it - I will only stop the abilty to post into the
forum using hotmail aliases, you will still be able to receive newsletters etc.

I think the banning of free mail addys is a good move for the reasons you mention..or alternatively, can you determine which free addresses belong to paid up members and which are used by free-ride members?
the thinking being that a paid member is less likely to throw his
membership away in this fashion.

Wayne,
This is the reason it has not yet been enabled we currently have 32 members that user hotmail accounts. I need to adjust the system to allow paid members to access with hotmail and not the visitors. This is not a hard change and will only take a few mins to implement.
I also understand the reason some register with a free server and that is to be sure that you do not get SPAMMED. We do not spam however it is hard for some to believe that this is the case and it may keep some people away. I do not want to lose any user however hotmail accounts are the only accounts that I ever find that post crap on the system.
I will look at the code later this afternoon after I have finished the huge list of jobs already on todays schedule.
Thanks all for your positive input.Regards

To throw a spnner in the works, one of the reasons I use a Yahoo mail account is so that when I go away I can still access this and other services that rely on email addy authentication. The "spanner" is in the shape of people with broadband accounts who can't simply "dial-in" from wherever they are and access their mail, we have to divert from our mail server (I usually "copy and foward") to another public domain service in order to access our email away from home and c.c. myself when I send emails. I am with Telstra BPA (cable), and although they do allow access to your email via their "Webmail" service, once you have downloaded it away from home, you cannot download it again when you get home (absolute PITA system!, I like to keep records of all incoming/outgoing personal emails at home) It is therefore a lot easier for us to have a "public" and a "private" address, but not quite for the reasons you may think.

Go ahead David and Michelle do whatever needs to be done to block the sort of crap that comes from free server email accounts.
I'm sure all us genuine users won't have any problem with that.
This is a great
