I'm looking for a very small 4WD that I can put crossways on the back of a truck which has a camper mounted on it. Max legal width of tray is 2,500mm so the Suzuki cannot be longer overall than this. Tried to find this info using Google but no luck. If anyone has an old Suzi 4WD, I would appreciate them running a tape over it and letting me know the overall length. Think the really early models may just scrape in under 2,500 mm ?

1988 SWB Hardtop model is 3430mm long, according to Redbook.
You can look up the vehicle specs of any car on the redbook site. Just look up the used car price and then click ob the Specs tab.

Hehehe Just looked up Smart Car - those chopped off things in the Mercedes dealers - exactly 2500mm long. I think they are the shortest vehicle you'll get.

Old Mal,
Don't think that you'll find anything small enough to go across sideways except "Smart car".(Stupid bloody toy)
Have you thought of a large Quadbike. I believe that they can be road registered with some mods (lights mirrors etc) and would have plenty of go anywhere capability if that's what you are looking for, (might be a bit wet or cold in some places though).

Otherwise an A frame or a trailer may be worth a thought.

Disco.

I saw such a contraption once. Although not a 4wd this fella chopped a Mini and fitted it crossways into a bus. Basically the Mini had no back seat. A set of fat wheels and a suspension mod and a small come-along winch and you could go anywhere!!!

Cheers
