Does anybody own one of these?
I need to know if the microphone needs to be plugged in for the received audio to be heard.
I have one sitting on
the bench, no microphone, no received audio yet RF input is being detected.
If this is so, then there is no need to pull out the soldering iron.
Thanks in advance, Tony.

Don't know about this particluar model, but I have had 2 GME radios and both required the handset to be connected to receive an audio signal. When it was disconnected - silch on the audio!

Thanks for that Laurie. I have two TX4000 radios that receive without the microphone being plugged in but other brands that I have had - including the Codan use the double pole switching contacts of the PTT button to switch the audio.
Thanks for the photo job on the website.
Cheers, Tony & Nan.
