I know Next G has been a hot topic on here at time, see this link regarding the latest ruling against Telstra and their coverage claims.

Thats fine so don't buy a Next G phone with Telstra.
You could always buy a service with Ummm??? lets say Vodaphone or Optus and see where your service then don't work.
I bet its a lot poorer than Next G coverage.

I think it just highlights 'buyer beware' and serves as a reminder to do your own research. I have a nextG phone supplied by work using a samsung handset and it is superb. I have not had a problem with it yet. I agree that Telstra Next G may well have more coverage than the other networks, but they need to make sure their claims are factual and not misleading.

I laugh at Telstra's claim that they connect to 98% of the population.
When I pointed out to a Telstra salesman that "Yes I believe you but you dont seem to realise that the 98% you are taliking about live in only 30% of the land mass of Australia so what are you doing for the 2% who are in the other 70% of the country".
Got a red face a strangled look and nothing further. ROFL

Your right, but seeing alot of poeple can"t live with out their phone, if the phone coverage was more then they would be able to go to more placers......you just don't know when a friend is going to text you with some important information like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING".

"We stand behind our advertising and the network because we know that Telstra's Next G network is the largest mobile network in Australia that provides coverage in more places in Australia than any other mobile network including the old CDMA network."

My Optus Mobilesat phone is still a mobile phone.....for them to say that they provides coverage in more places in Australia than any other mobile network is misleading....I would love to challenge them to out do the coverage I have, jeeees even Globalstar would have more coverage LOL.

The sad thing is we come across travellers in the outback that honestly believed there Telstra phone would and should have coverage anywhere.

They should come out and tell the truth....we are waiting to go to NextG but it is no good having coverage if the phones them selves are poor quality and always stop working.

We have soe customers who have NextG and the don't get coverage in some parts of Adelaide.

Regards Richard
