Hi all is anyone out there a travel agent???
I have a question, i have being overcharged i think by an agent and was wondering if it is legal moral or plain outright stupidity on my part???
My wife, Teena and i booked a honeymoon with a reputable dealer, that charged us 751 dollars each for a one bedroom , two bed unit, now the per night amount is $123/ night, now working it out, 751 +751 = $1502, in my maths class it doesn't add up especially it being $123 per night.
So did i get ripped and if i did is ther anything i can do about it??
As Teen and i are really bleep about it?????

Hi Christoper
Usually these type of things are per person/twin share. If it's $123 a night per person and it's for 7 nights then that totals $861 per person, so you may have got a discount anyway? Tell him you were going over the costs again and ask him to clarify it for you. One would hope you have the deal in writing incase there is a?
Best of luck with it.

Thanks for replying, yeap in writing and thru a supposedly reputable travell agent and i have the emails and everthing else, plus i do remeber telling the girl it was a honeymoon!!!
But that still leaves a huge difference between what we know and what we paid???
If it comes down to a fight then hey customer is ALWAYS RIGHT ius what i got told in Customer service!!!!!
The thing is we slept in the same bed and stayed in the same room!
So is there anything i can do???

As Muddy doe said "per person per night or per room per night". There is a difference of 100%.
If it was per room you are out of pocket.
If its per person it was cheap.
Read the fine print.

Yeap per person per night??? as far as i am concerned i will query it and ask then why we didn't get the second room and why our package wasn't cuistomised to our needs, as i said by a reputable travel agent???
But two people paying for the same room same bed????
i think it was a rip off, and big time????
in todays markey value for dollar still holds out????
Fine print you don't think i didn't??? I only look stupid!!! Doeasnt mean i am!!!
I read fine print and i understand it. It wasn't until we looked at the invoice after knowing how much it would cost per night???

Don't you think it is wiser to go and ask the travel agent about it instead of asking a
forum.
As a consumer your first port of dispute should be with the supplier, we have a retail business and we have had it before where a customer has canned us to there friends only to find out we did the right thing and they got value for money, all you get from the customer is "Oh stupid me" but what about what the customer said to their friends......that's all forgotten.
People forget there are consumer laws that can not be overwritten by any company or anyone that are there to protect you.
Or is it people have just lost the ability to communicate or resolve a dispute with out getting on a high horse about it.
If you signed a contract you should of read it and understood it fully.
Keep in mind that the supplier cannot put some thing unethical or stupid in a contract like "If you
sign this contract we will charge you double"
People make mistakes including customers and suppliers.......speak to them right and you may get a result.
Or if you can't make a decision your self then just wear it and enjoy the honeymoon.

Hi Richard, i have worked in retail and i know about the chain that happens if you bad mouth a company! Hence that's why i left the name out and asked a question! Information doesn't hurt aslong as it is used for information.
I did read the contract and we didn't pick up on it till after our wedding.
Also if i am wrong about something I HAVE THE GUTS TO ADMIT I AM WRONG AND APOLOGISE, NOT LIKE MOST OF THE LOSER'S WHO DON"T!!!
I also have a multiple award for customer service!!!
I also like to treat others fairly and with respect.
There was an incident with a travel agent a few years back that people where organised for a few extra's that they didnt get and the agent was pocketing teh extra money from that and not organising things.
And we will speak to the travel agent and ask them, if i am not happy with the response or it was my fault for not making sure then i will wear it and find someone else who will do the job of organising a trip better and make sure i get for what i pay.
Oh DID I SAY I WILL WEAR IT IF IT IS MY FAULT.

Chris it will be good to hear the outcome.
The biggest mistake you made LOL was telling them it was a honeymoon.......anything to do with weddings, deaths, births and engagments always have a 100% surcharge on it.
I think this is why the people who sell the stuff always have a big smile and nothing seems to hard for them.

Hi Christoper
As I have said usually it means "per person per night" whether you are travelling alone or sharing. The less time you stay the more it costs. Hence, $123 prt night/per person and it's for 7 nights then that totals $861 per person x 2 = $1,722. You are saying it cost less than that for the two of you for the week. It sounds like you got a discounted rate because you stayed the 7 nights, by your own calculation of $751 + $751 = $1502.
As I said you would be best to ask again on how they got that price.
I do hope they do the right thing and look after their customers.

Ring the hotel and ask what their price is for 2 people for 7 nights.
you will soon find out.
Cheers Steve.
