had a shared drive today of the new turbo v8 200 series. Very impressed with the on road drive. Compared to the old v8 petrol there a lot more torque off the mark.Handling I think is improved as it turns in
well. Its BIG. Boss picks his up tomorrow , so looking forward to a more complete test.

Not fussed on the push button start, but that's how new cars are going. Interior fit and finish was excellent. For a very big vehicle it felt quite nimble. Not sure how it will compare to the big Chevy, quieter definitely , power comparison you will have to let us know Roachie

"No surprises then that it’s being heralded as ‘The Earth’s Greatest 4WD’. And priced from just $69,990*, it’s worth at least one
test drive."
I just read that on the Toyota website (I was looking at the Turbo diesel at the time). They didn't source their quote 'The Earth's Greatest 4wd'. And saying "priced from just 69,990"???
I also noticed:
"It’s tougher on the outside..."
If it's tougher on the outside, why does the load carrying capacity appear to have decreased (I can't remember what the previous model was)? It can only carry about 600kg before it hit's it's GVM limit. What exactly is 'tougher on the outside"? Chasis? Drivetrain?
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's an awesome vehicle - but I don't like marketing crap.
Pete

G'Day
John,
Just as soon as I move up to your level in the milk business!
Not holding my breath though.
Until then the poverty-pack Nissan will have to last
:)
Regards
Rolande

I drove up alongside one in
Adelaide on the weekend and was very surprised to see how exposed the headlight assembly sticks out the side of the vehicle. If you didn't have a Bullbar fitted I would expect to break a light assembly within my first few trips offroad.
I do agree it does look a bit Rav, Klugerish.

Kluger on steroids the salesman said. $80k for a new GXL diesel and no Kinetic
suspension on it is pretty steep. Glad I have what I have after a look yesterday. The GXL being the only one with a long range tank too. The GVM will easily be offended.
Loved your Christmas tree
pic mate. LOL
