Ok in oziexplorer ( on my laptop ) i set a Map feature - when i go into properties i name it something like " turon camping spot" add a photo for visual reminder ( little Blue icon circle with a 12 in it)

NOW is there an easy way to find this map feature , or a search feature that if i then type in Turon camping spot - it will find it for me and take me to the correct map and then the the correct spot on the map ?

clicked on the name button on the end - but does not find it ....

is there a quick solution rather than scouring the map looking for the map features i have added?

Boc

Hello - you can display all map features present on any one map by using VIEW - LIST- MAP FEATURES. You can then click on relevant map feature in the list and then the red bulls eye 'plot location.." icon and you will be taken to that feature. Maybe not the solution you were looking for but the only easy option AFAIK.

If you want to use the name search function to find certain "features" you will need to create a name search file. One method to achieve this is to create wayponts at the same locations as you features and convert this file to a name search file

Read about making name search files here

Get the actual name search program here

Name Search Program

Also it is possible to import map features from one map to another using IMPORT MAP - MAP FEATURS AND COMMENTS FROM MAP FILE. Thisi would enable you to import all your map features from say a series of large scale maps (say 25K scale) to a small scale map (say 250K) so you could search them all at once using the map features list...and then select a better scale map when feature you want is found.

Hope this advice helps

Cheers
Greg
