Phoenix will not let you down, but you would have to look at a secondhand one.

A Jurgens expedition is one option, however the front double is only suited to people under six foot tall eg great for kids.
Great hybrid camper/ caravan option for off road. There is one currently on the trading post in Qld.

Matt ,
Maybe think about putting in two sets of bunks into a 16 ft Phoenix Phase 3. You could remove an island double bed ( which most have ) and put them in .
That way you would still have a van short enough to get through the odd "not so bad"
creek bed . Otherwise you will be looking at a big van and having people sleeping on collapsible tables etc .
When I was looking , there always seemed to be a couple of Phase 3s around second hand
Cheers ,
Willie

i know what you mean,my kids are 15 and 11 and they are starting to get long and heavy and im not sure the fold out bunks we have now will give them enough room for long.
Dont really want to go to a huge van either.
Ill have a look at that model you suggested.
Cheers
Matt

Jayco Expanda Outback perhaps, as long as you're not going to do serious off road work with it. 16 footer expands to about 25 feet.
New price not much over 30 large.
