Hi all,
I was looking at Apollo Relocation where you take a vehicle (like a camper) from
Perth to
Melbourne, they say the pick up date and drop off date and charge you like $1 a day Has anyone actually done this? are there other companys making similar offers? I know I'm a doubting thomas but I've always thought if it sounds to good....
Be interested in feedback
Rgds

Hi Ian and Nola,
We have done a relocation in 2005 through www.standbycars.com.au
We took a 4WDbushcamper from
Cairns to
Alice Springs then picked up a Toyota Hiace van and took it to
Adelaide. We added a couple of extra days to include some time in the Flinders Rangers.
Both were $1/day + some $'s for fuel.
If you don't mind driving and keeping to a deadline it's certainly worth doing.
We loved the bushcamper so much that we kept an eye out for the ex-rental sales and bought one.
cheers,
Joan
To make it a really cheap holiday look out for cheap airfares one way and lastminute accommodation deals.

I know someone who's taken a car (not a camper) from
Alice springs to
Adelaide, a couple of times. I don't think it's as good as a dollar a day and I don't think you get to have a free holiday on the way there. But it works out OK if you can fit with the availability.
Sounds to me like you're expecting a bit much, but then, maybe.......
Regards,
Laurie.

I've many friends use these people,
www.standbycars.com.au
they are great and you get to travel for the price of $1 a day for up to a 6 berth campervan. Often they even kick in a few hundred $$$ for fuel! good deal hey!
:)
