Father in law had the pirelli scorpions fitted to his disco but lost all of them ( and I mean all ) going down the
birdsville track. Expensive replacement at Maree!
They seemed okay until you lower the pressure. Most tyres seem okay till you do this. Then the men from the boys are separated.
I found that the choice with 16inch rims is pretty limited to road tyres. Sunrasia 15inch rims give you a much wider choice with a big variance in price.

I've replaced my factory crap with Cooper's new ATR pattern and I'm rapped. They come in two grades, normal and light truck. the former is guaranteed for 60,000k and the latter with heavier side walls for 90,000k provided you do all the right things and have them rotated, balanced and aligned every 10,000k. Personally, I can live with that.
I've found them a generally good tyre with plenty of grip and will take you most
places very safely, even if you get off-road a bit. You pay a bit more but I think that you get waht you pay for.
Cheers
