Hi All,
Just don't large trucks have gas injection if it gives you more power or better consumption?
Just came up in conversation and no one had an answer?

Ian
Could you please rephrase what you have written above so that it identifies what the question was that no one could answer.

There are a number of large trucks and static diesel motors on gas. I think as the fuel gets more expensive more people will
fork out the $ to install.

The do Ian, They Do.
My brother who lives in
Alice Springs was telling me approx 2 months ago about a whopping big brand new Kenworth that was delivered to a company in
Alice Springs, and shortly thereafter sent to West Australia for an LPG system to be added.
On its return it apparently performed like a 'dragster' and was the talk of the trucking community.
Apparently there was no black smoke from the exhausts, just heat vapour
trails.

Cost is a huge issue for gas installs on a"proper" truck...:)
My quote was just over 16k,,,and thats alot of moola i don't have to spare. Space for the actuall gas
tank is also taken into consideration. I would have had to remove a three hundred ltr diesel
tank, dropping my diesel capacity to just over 600ltr, so that a 200 ltr gas
tank could be installed. As i use over three hundred ltr per day, this would mean i would be filling up every two days instead of three.
There are a few other considerations as
well, the most important being that not all truck motor manufacturer's will allow gas on the motor's.

Firstly, sorry fror the crap phrasing of the question, I always wondered what the preview button was for.
I'm glad to see some are taking it up, did'nt realise the cost for the trucks was so great, I guess I'll start seeing them shortly. Reason for the question is I;m thinking of buying a none turbo deisel and have heard good things about the gas injection but someone raised the point (incorrectly going from the responses above) that you don't see the big trucks with them
Thanks for your comments

Big rigs have been runnning diesel/gas for years. They test piloted the concept for the rest of us and have had a few blow up over the years. Thanks to their pioneering of the concept, we now have safe options for our little rigs.
