I'm no expert, but I didn't think you could camp anywhere at the dam itself ??

No camping at the dam itself.
A couple of k's before the dam on the road from Dungog there is a dirt road off to the right where the dam road goes left downhill, follow the dirt road up into the Chichester state forest, three camping areas all sign posted, Telegherry, Frying Pan and Coachwood.

Hi,

The Telegherry campsite would be the one Bockstar1 was meaning (I was on the trip with him).

The co-ords (WGS84) are -32.2231667, 151.7446550.

Hope this helps.

Been to the campsites, but looking at the map above the numbers looked too close to the dam..

Telegherry is on the Telegherry River and it doesn't show it on the above map as its a good 5K's away from the dam..

Ozboc,

Those numbers are a direct cut and paste from my OziExplorer waypoint file. And definitely WGS84.

Full entry is:

-1,Barrington Telegherry Camp, -32.2231667, 151.7446550,39122.9612037,0,0,0,0,16777215,10 Feb 2007 10:04:08,0,0,0, -777,8,0,17,0, 10.0,2,,,

Try adding the above entry in your Ozi waypoints file, and see where it puts you (again make sure you're using WGS 84).

I went into Google Earth and looked at my KML file of the trip. The figures are correct. Pasting those co-ordinates into the search field put me straight on top of the campsite.

If it's of any further help, the UTM co-ordinates on the 92334S-Chichester map are 56H 381703 6434133.

The campsite is just off middle Road.

Not too many other details I can provide....
