Its like any insurance. Providers have different levels of cover based on a variety of circumstances and risks.

CIA (caravan Insurance Australia) provide a different level of cover to AAMI and have obvious premiums to match and there are those that think they're the ants pants.

You'll get the obvious "soap boxers" that will pipe up with "We're with X and they are great go with them, blah, blah".

Here is a broker that will give you a selection of providers all with basically the same cover but different levels of valuation, excesses and premiums. They also offer cover for camping equipment as well.

www.tcis.com.au

At the end of the day you need to decide which is the best value for the money and how much you want to spend.

Im curious - with AAMI - or other such insurance - are you covered off road?

example if i was doing a river crossing and it all went horribly wrong with my Jayco(outback flamingo) - would it be covered - or because it was not on a sealed road they would not cover ???

to date i have only done water crossing up to the bottom of my bullbar on my Patrol ( 2 inch lift ) some being moderate flowing rivers - some concrete causeways others sandy bottom ....

From a caravan repairer on another forum, suggest you get agreed value instead of market value.

Had several in with hail damage in QLD, repair cost was 55% of the market value, they wrote the van off and the owners lost big $$$ on their three year old van compared to purchase price.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and we are with CIS, agreed value for purchase price

Gooday,
give MHIA (Motrohomes Insurance Agency a call, they have a 1800 Number:- 1800 676-700.
They may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for. They have recently done a deal with The Auastralian Caravan Club (ACC), where you get a special rate, as well as extra benefits. We have been with them for several years, had 1 claim withnot a hitch. Very good people to deal with.
Most of the others you mention are owned by the same Major Insurance Company using different names.
Cheers,
