Four journalists had a problem crossing the Bloomfield River.
- "The difference between soft-roader perception and reality was made clear during the launch of Volvo’s new XC70 wagon last week in far north Queensland.
Three Volvos and their occupants were left stranded partway across a flooded causeway when engines ingested
water and conked out. Thankfully, they were able to refire and run – albeit roughly – long enough to make it to dry land.
Otherwise it would have been a short but perilous journey through the croc-infested waters of the Bloomfield River for the two journalists in each car."

Hell....I reckon the Lightburn Zeta would have had better than 300mm wading depth - most fourbies have a standard 700mm - snorkels improve a heap on that of course - 300mm ! - where could you hope to go ?
As for the Bloomfield road - a great run up there but you have to like steep roads - hell, was that steep !

I read that too.
Volvo's must be pretty good if they can ingest
water like they said, and start up again.
I thought it would take a lot more work to re-start a motor after ingesting
water.
